This should be of interest for businesses ready to expand to international markets.

Congratulations to Blair Whitmarsh on his return to Council.

Thank you to all those who supported my campaign with your time, money and votes.

My signs will be coming down in the next 2 days. If you still see any after Monday, please message me.

Home after a full day of wet conversations on voting day, with just 1 brochure left for a friend. Now on to the phones, with the Jays in the background until polls close.

During this campaign, I’ve had so many positive conversations about the kind of future our residents want. And I based my platform on a future that meets the needs of a growing and changing Township of Langley.

Strategic investments in facilities and roads. Affordable housing options for our working families, youth and seniors.
Safe communities.
Working with other levels of government to get the job done.

If you want to see our community move forward to meet tomorrow’s challenges today, make sure you get out and before 8 pm on Saturday, Oct. 25.

You can find the unofficial results on the Township’s website sometime after 8 pm at:

Congratulations to my fellow candidates for a (mostly) positive campaign. And thank you to those who made time to vote. ☑️♥️🙏

It’s election day for the Township of Langley by election for 1 councillor position. Voting is happening at several locations across the Township on Oct. 25. Take a family member, friend or neighbour. And to make sure our community keeps moving forward, please vote for me.

I am disappointed to learn of Mr. Whitmarsh’s negative campaigning online because someone in our community endorsed me. Mr. Whitmarsh has received endorsements from many community leaders. It’s part of campaigning to receive endorsements.

It’s one thing to attack me - that’s politics. But to attack a community member, that’s unacceptable of anyone seeking public office. This is not leadership indicative of “healthy, dynamic relationships.” This clearly sends the message that, if you aren’t with Blair, then you’re the enemy.

I have clearly outlined my priorities for this election. I remain committed to listening to our community and bringing your voices to the table. And that means working with whomever I need to.

If you value positive and results-oriented politics, I ask for your support on Oct. 25.

We’re down to one more day before the Oct. 25 by election in the Township of Langley. Although Friday looks wet, I’ll be out delivering the last of my campaign brochures in the afternoon. Message me if anyone would like to help for an hour or 2. With just a bit more help, we can bring this home on Saturday.

Share some warmth through new and gently used coats for students in our community.

Help our school community stay warm this winter! The Langley School District Foundation’s annual winter coat drive is open until Nov. 5, and families are invited to donate new or gently used winter coats for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 who may need a little warmth this season. I’m delighted to see information being shared about federal funding for a performing arts centre at the Langley Events Centre. Details on the funding are shown below.

Here’s some information on the history of this project and the federal funding. When I was a Member of Parliament, I met with former Mayor Jack Froese and his council to find out their top priority for federal funding. I was asked to work on securing a significant amount of funding for a performing arts centre as their highest priority, having previously secured $10.5M in my first term for the Aldergrove Community Centre. I secured a commitment of $21M during the 2021 federal election for this project, if my party formed government - which we did. I then followed the Township’s application for this funding. As is the case with any large project, costs began to increase before any funding decision was made. Knowing that the price for the proposed project was increasing, I worked on - and secured - an additional $4M to take the federal contribution to $25M - the maximum available under the specific funding stream for this type of project.

From what I’ve been able to figure out, the Township has yet to formally accept the funding and then can move to design and construction phases of the project. Given that this was the top infrastructure request for federal funding by the Township, and given the scale of federal support, this is why I have made completion of this project as my top priority during the current by election.

Yes - other projects are also needed such as a community centre for Willoughby and a new and relocated Fire Hall 8 for North Langley. But with $25M on the table in federal funding for a project requested by the Township and for which I invested a lot of time and effort to secure for our community, I remain committed to seeing this through to completion. The performing arts centre is part of the plans for the Events Centre by 2040. The project will only get more expensive, and this federal funding will lapse if the project isn’t completed by 2029.

I took advantage of the second last day for advance voting in the Township of Langley by election today at Salishan Place in Fort Langley. I encourage all voters to get out there and do your part for democracy and vote. And I’d be remiss if I don’t include a wee personal plug, so please - Vote John Aldag. ☑️
