Police Lay Additional Charges Following Search Warrant on Oakridge Street in LaSalle

At about 12:45 p.m. on October 20, 2026, the LaSalle police responded to information that a man had threated to kill another person. Officers located the man at his residence on Oakridge Street in LaSalle and he refused to exit his residence. Through investigation officers learned the man may have access to fi****ms, so additional police resources were deployed including assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT). At approximately, 6:33 p.m., the man surrendered himself without further incident. He was arrested, charged with uttering threats to cause death, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Update:
Yesterday, the LaSalle Police Service executed a search warrant at the accused’s residence on Oakridge Street. They found:
Eight fi****ms including a .50 caliber sniper r***e, handguns, and sh****ns
Two crossbows
Two recurve bows
Two pellet guns
An assortment of am******on

In addition to the initial uttering threats charge, Robert STUPARYK, 58, of Oakridge Street in LaSalle has been charged with the following offences:
Unauthorized Possession of a Fi***rm (4 counts)
Possession of a Prohibited Device (2 counts)
Careless Storage of a Fi***rm (5 counts)

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Members of the LaSalle Police Service and the LaSalle Fire Service joined Essex-Windsor at the 13th Annual Survivor Day. It is a day celebrating survivors and recognizing the first responders as well as dispatchers, bystanders and healthcare professionals who helped save their lives.

Among those who were recognized were LaSalle Police Officers, SgtJustin Pare, Cst Sean Bear , Cst Christopher Bedard, and Cst Kristy Pratt and Cst Jimmi Hanna who were not pictured above.

Police Arrest LaSalle Man for Uttering Threats

At about 12:45 p.m. on October 20, 2026, the LaSalle police responded to information that a man had threated to kill another person. Officers located the man at his residence on Oakridge Street in LaSalle and he refused to exit his residence. Through investigation officers learned the man may have access to fi****ms, so additional police resources were deployed including assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT). At approximately, 6:33 p.m., the man surrendered himself without further incident.



A 58-year-old LaSalle man has been arrested and charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. There is no threat to public safety. Police will remain on Oakridge Street while seeking judicial authorization to search his residence.

INVESTIGATION UPDATE:

The shelter in place has been lifted. One person has been taken into custody. The LaSalle Police Service is remaining on scene investigating. There is no threat to public safety.

The LaSalle Police Service is currently investigating a collision in the area of Broderick and North Town Line (County Road 😎. The intersection is closed at this time. Please avoid the area.

Distracted driving continues to put everyone on our roads at risk. In Ontario, it is illegal to use or even hold a hand-held phone or electronic entertainment device while driving, including while stopped in traffic or at a red light.

Distracted driving includes: Texting or dialing on a hand-held phone
- Using a tablet or other hand-held entertainment device
- Programming a GPS by hand
- Having a non-driving-related display screen visible to the driver

A first conviction for a fully licensed driver can result in a $615 fine, 3 demerit points and a 3-day licence suspension, with penalties increasing for subsequent convictions.

Most importantly, distracted driving can have consequences far greater than a ticket. No text, notification or phone call is worth a life.

Before you drive, put the phone away and focus on the road.

Over the past summer, the LaSalle Police Service received numerous calls for service involving E-Bikes. As a result of those calls and proactive work by officers:

12 - Charges were laid against the rider or their parents
42 - Cautions were issued to the rider and/or their parents
138 - Youths and their parents were spoken to and educated in regard to E-Bike rules and safety.

Keeping our Youth, our Community and our Roadways safe continues to be top priority for the LaSalle Police Service.
