A new case of measles in a child from Montreal has been reported to Montreal Public Health. The child passed through Montréal-Trudeau International Airport on October 9, 2026, and presented at the emergency department of the Centre hospitalier universitaire (CHU) Sainte-Justine on October 10, 2026, while contagious.

📸 Then & Now: Vieux-Saint-Vincent-de-Paul

Let’s take a look back at Vieux-Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and see how some of its buildings and landscapes have changed over the years!

🏘️ Rue de la Fabrique — 1954 & 2002
The first comparison gives us a glimpse of the area in 1954 and how the landscape had changed by 2002.

🏠 5316–5310 boulevard Lévesque Est — 2020
Built around 1930, this former hotel establishment was saved from demolition and eventually restored. Today, the building has a residential purpose.

🏛️ Former Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Town Hall — 1965 & 2016
Located at 1111 Place J.-Eudes-Blanchard, directly behind the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church, this building was constructed in 1922 according to plans by architect Damase Favreau.

Originally a parish hall, it began being used for municipal council meetings in 1931. Following the 1965 municipal merger, it was converted into a fire station and police station. After a new fire station was built in 1989, the historic building became dedicated to community activities. It was renovated in 2010 and is now the Maison de la Famille.

One interesting detail to notice in the photos: the **hose-drying tower that once stood beside the building is no longer there.**

Vieux-Saint-Vincent-de-Paul has changed considerably over the decades, but these buildings offer a glimpse into the neighbourhood's rich history and the many ways its spaces have been reused over time.
