UPDATE (10:30 a.m.): DNR and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency are continuing to respond to the fire on Mooseland Rd, Halifax Co. The fire is now estimated to be 1386 hectares due to more accurate mapping of the fire and is still out of control.

Two DNR helicopters and four-fixed wing water bombers are assigned to the fire along with two fixed-wing water bombers from Newfoundland. Heavy equipment are also on site.

Mooseland Road is currently closed to traffic, beginning at the intersection of Highway 7 and Mooseland Road. Please avoid the area.

July 16 | 9 p.m. - Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency has issued a mandatory evacuation of Mooseland Road, from 4315 Mooseland Road to Highway 7. This is to assist firefighting operations and protect residents in the area of the Mooseland Road Fire.
