Starting October 1, Alberta's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program will enter Phase 2. This transition will extend residential curbside recycling service to several communities that were previously exempt from the program.

The City of Lethbridge is excited to partner with Circular Materials and those communities to deliver curbside recycling collection in their regions.

Starting today, northbound Scenic Drive will be closed at 4 Avenue South. Tomorrow, August 6, southbound Scenic Drive will be closed at 4 Avenue South.

Please follow posted signage and drive with caution through construction zones. We appreciate your patience as this work is completed.

To accommodate traffic signal upgrades, the busy downtown intersection at Scenic Drive South and 4 Avenue South will feature a temporary four-way stop on Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6. this week.

Heads up motorists!

The eastbound and westbound inside lanes of Whoop-Up Drive will be closed east of the Scenic Drive S overpass today starting at 9 a.m.

Our electric operations crews will be replacing two streetlights. The work is scheduled to be completed by 3 p.m. today, weather permitting.

Please follow posted signage and drive with caution through construction zones.

Starting tomorrow, work will begin on another intersection improvement as part of the 2026 program.

Crews will be installing a new rapid rectangular flashing beacon pedestrian signal on Canyon Parkway West.

The work will be completed off the roadway, but motorists are reminded to drive with caution to keep construction crews safe.

A water valve repair in the northeast corner of 18 Avenue North and 28 Street North is causing minor traffic disruptions.
