THANK YOU!!!!

Lillooet Rescue would like to show off our new rescue equipment! We are now the proud owners of high pressure - heavy lift air bags. These bags allow us to lift vehicles and objects simply by using the compressed air in a SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) bottled that fire fighters use to enter smoke filled environments.

The team has started training on the proper use of this new equipment and it is going on our trucks soon!

We would really like to extend our appreciation to SLRD - Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Areas A & B (Vivian Birch-Jones and Sal DeMare), Talisker Bralorne Gold Mine, Roadrunner Excavating Ltd, District of Lillooet, Lillooet Legion Branch 66 (for letting us host a Meat Draw that saw proceeds go to this and monies from the Poppy Fund) and a sizable private donation from a friend of the team, that allowed us to get the funding to purchase this equipment. We could not have done this without your support!!

Last night Justin Mitchell stopped by the hall and presented Lillooet and District Rescue (represented by Chief Max Paulhus) with a donation of $1000 which was part of the proceeds from the yearly ball tournament he hosts.

Thank you so much for this Justin, we are truly grateful for your support and this incredible donation! This money will be used towards getting equipment and accessories for our rescue activities!

Last night we joined in on the Community Water Fight. While it had been sold to us that it would be first responders versus the community Lillooet Fire Department didn't play nice and soaked us with their monitor (said with tongue in cheek of course....😜) and total chaos ensued. That being said it was a really fun and enjoyable time!! We had an absolute blast and hope everyone else did too.

𝟏. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲? I have been on the team for about 6 years, shortly after I moved to Lillooet. I joined as a way to meet people in the community.
𝟐. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦? (𝐢.𝐞., 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩, 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬?) .I wanted to give back to the Lillooet after being welcomed so warmly here, and to learn new skills. Some of the training we learn is helpful to recreational activities as well – for example, practicing knots and rope skills is helpful for rock climbing.
𝟑. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 (𝐢.𝐞., 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝, 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚, 𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝) I’m lucky to have received a lot of training and certificates through rescue over the years – I have my technical rope rescue, auto-extrication and Swiftwater certificates. Lillooet Rescue was my first exposure to emergency response and I enjoyed it so much I went on to train as a paramedic. I bring advanced First Aid skills to the team.
𝟒. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞? (𝐞.𝐠., 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛) I try to spend as much time as possible in Lillooet’s beautiful outdoors, whether snowboarding, hiking with my dog or mountain biking. I am a paramedic, a teacher and play music.
𝟓. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞? The opportunity to be able to help others when they need it. It’s been rewarding to be able to respond to calls and hopefully help out during accidents.

𝟏. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲? I joined the Lillooet and District Rescue Society on September 26, 2024 and have been dedicated to learning, training, and contributing to the team ever since.
𝟐. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦? (𝐢.𝐞., 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩, 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬?) I joined the Lillooet and District Rescue Society because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in my community. This opportunity allows me to support those in need while also learning valuable new skills. Being part of the team enables me to contribute to the safety and well-being of others, which is something I am truly passionate about.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 (𝐢.𝐞., 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝, 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚, 𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝) I have a deep understanding of the local area and a strong willingness to assist wherever needed. My training includes First Aid, Crisis Intervention Training, Victim Assistance Volunteer Training, and Indigenous Tools for Living. Additionally, I hold a Community Service and Addictions Worker Diploma. Since joining the Lillooet and District Rescue Society, I have further developed my skills by completing the Technical Rope - Roadside Rescue training, allowing me to
contribute more effectively to the team.
𝟒. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞? (𝐞.𝐠., 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛) Outside of rescue, I stay actively involved in my community. I have three children, age 13, 11, and a newborn, who both play hockey, and I volunteer with the Lillooet Minor Hockey Association. I also serve as an active Victim Assistance Volunteer, providing support to those in crisis. In
addition, I balance a full-time job in the community while pursuing full-time studies at NVIT.
𝟓. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞? My favorite part of being on rescue is the opportunity to help others in times of need while continuously learning and developing new skills. I love being part of a dedicated team that works together to make a real difference in the community. The sense of purpose and the ability to support people during challenging situations is incredibly rewarding.

We just wanted to thank Route 99 Show & Shine for their donation towards Lillooet Rescue this past weekend, in appreciation for our assistance at the Drag Races. Thanks to our members that were able to donate their time to help out and taking part in this fun event. Thanks to Route 99 for the donation, we were happy to help.

🚒 Come by the fire hall on May 8th 2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM and meet the volunteers behind Lillooet's road rescue, fire suppression, emergency management and emergency support services programs.

Get some BBQ, watch vehicle extraction demos, tour our new apparatus, meet Sparky and Ember, and get some hands-on fire extinguisher practice.

Come after school, come after work. Bring the whole family.

Happy to help out Route 99 Show & Shine this weekend with the drag races on Saturday and Sunday. This gem caught our eye and we want to introduce to you our new Chief's vehicle or our new Quick Response Vehicle - we haven't decided yet.........Just kidding of course - but had to get a few pictures with the like colours.....thanks to the owner who let us take these great pics and share them.....
