I joined the Lillooet and District Rescue Society on September 26, 2024 and have been dedicated to learning, training, and contributing to the team ever since.

I joined the Lillooet and District Rescue Society because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in my community. This opportunity allows me to support those in need while also learning valuable new skills. Being part of the team enables me to contribute to the safety and well-being of others, which is something I am truly passionate about.

My training includes First Aid, Crisis Intervention Training, Victim Assistance Volunteer Training, and Indigenous Tools for Living. Additionally, I hold a Community Service and Addictions Worker Diploma. Since joining the Lillooet and District Rescue Society, I have further developed my skills by completing the Technical Rope - Roadside Rescue training, allowing me to
contribute more effectively to the team.

(๐ž.๐ ., ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ซ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ, ๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐š ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฃ๐จ๐›) Outside of rescue, I stay actively involved in my community. I have three children, age 13, 11, and a newborn, who both play hockey, and I volunteer with the Lillooet Minor Hockey Association. I also serve as an active Victim Assistance Volunteer, providing support to those in crisis. In
addition, I balance a full-time job in the community while pursuing full-time studies at NVIT.
๐Ÿ“. ๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฏ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐›๐ž๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ง ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ฎ๐ž? My favorite part of being on rescue is the opportunity to help others in times of need while continuously learning and developing new skills. I love being part of a dedicated team that works together to make a real difference in the community. The sense of purpose and the ability to support people during challenging situations is incredibly rewarding.

I joined in September 2012, so almost 14 years.

To help โ€“ I have been involved in emergency services since 2000 in other communities and wanted to volunteer to help in the Lillooet community. I was approached by Dave Ralston to see if I was interested, went to a practice to check it out and Iโ€™m still here.

(๐ž.๐ ., ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ซ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ, ๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐š ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฃ๐จ๐›) As a member of Lillooet Rescue I have helped Fill the Ambulance Food Drive, First Responders Charity Hockey Games, Route 99 Drag Races, helped with parades, Apricot Festival, Lillooet Legion events, and more. I work full time as a teacher at Cayoosh Elementary, part-time Unit Chief and Paramedic with BC Ambulance, representative for the Gold Trail Teachersโ€™ Association and BC Teachersโ€™ Federation and lucky enough to be married to an awesome, supportive wife and have 2 great children. In my spare time I like to go camping and play golf.

Thanks to Lillooet Legion Branch 66 for allowing us to host last night and thank you to all that were there and supported us! From the Meat Draw, 50/50 and the donation jar (Thanks Merv!!) we have raised almost $900 towards our goal of purchasing heavy lift air bags to enhance our rescue abilities.

Meet Megan! Her 1st time at the meat draw and she's our MEGA winner! 3 times winning a regular draw, won the mega draw AND the 50/50!!! Congrats and we will see you next Friday!! The Lillooet and District Rescue Society takes home almost $900.00 to go towards new air lift bags! Thank you to everyone who came out to support these wonderful people!! ๐Ÿ’›
