Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Hampton by Hilton hotel at 4711 Ontario Street. With 100 guest rooms, a pool, and conference space, this $20M investment supports our local economy, creates new jobs, and gives our community space to gather, connect, and grow.

Yesterday, the Town of Lincoln – including Mayor Easton, members of Council, and senior staff – toured AMSi Inc., just south of Town Hall, as part of Economic Development Week!

This weekend, Town of Lincoln staff welcomed Ontario's Minister of Tourism, Stan Cho, to showcase our efforts in growing the tourism economy. 📈

Today is the Mayor’s 2025 State of the Town Address
Here are some highlights from her speech as we look at how we’re shaping Lincoln’s future together.


Slide 2 – Economic Growth
✂️ Cutting red tape to attract investment.
Our vision for economic development is rooted in growth, opportunity, and prosperity for all. By making it easier for private sector investment and getting shovels into the ground quicker, we’re laying the foundation for a thriving local economy.


Slide 3 – Housing & Infrastructure
🏗️ Promoting an Open for Business message and attracting new investment are key drivers towards economic growth and prosperity in Lincoln. The success of investment attraction can be measured through residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional construction statistics.


Slide 4 – Community Spaces
📚 We’re advocating for investment from upper levels of government to support our community’s vibrancy and wellbeing.
We've secured $2M in funding from Canada's Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program to support and expansion of the Vineland library and community space.


Slide 5 – Supporting Businesses
💼 As we focus on Lincoln's future, we recognize the broader challenges facing Canada. We've been working tirelessly for our businesses and formed the Lincoln Tariff Response Team with the Lincoln Chamber and BIA to support our businesses during ongoing international trade disruptions.

💡 As we move forward, our approach to financial planning will be guided by three key principles:
Fiscal Responsibility - making tough but necessary decisions to ensure financial sustainability while also investing in our community.
Advocacy - seeking funding from upper levels of government
Strategic Investments - prioritizing projects that have long term benefits while ensuring that we are not overburdening future budgets.

The Ontario government is rolling out approximately $11 billion in support for businesses and workers in response to U.S.-imposed tariffs and broader economic challenges, in an effort to support local businesses and employees across the province.

💰 $9B in tax deferrals (Apr 1–Oct 1, 2025)
🛡️ $2B WSIB rebates for safe employers in addition to $2 billion already distributed in March.
⚒️ Faster development approvals & trade diversification
👷‍♀️ Support for worker retraining & apprenticeships
