Please note:
There may be some water discoloration in the coming days as Aqua 7 had a system shut down for an unknown reason. The system started back up rather quickly which is the cause for discoloration. Water is tested daily and is safe to consume and use.

DIRT BIKES (OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES)
Bylaw 2023-09 Village of Linden Off-Highway Vehicle Bylaw

The Traffic Safety Act section 120 allows municipalities to make bylaws allowing off-highway vehicles to use the road. This allowance is only given for roads under the authority of the municipality, so they cannot give permission for an off-highway vehicle to use a provincial highway (which includes the ditch alongside the highway). Sometimes agreements are made over who has the authority on stretches of highways. The Village of Linden Bylaw only pertains to operation within our municipal boundaries. Kneehill County can confirm what highway and/or roadway is under their municipal control. You can contact the regional provincial office that deals with the local highways and can confirm any discrepancies with them.

• The Operator of an off-highway vehicle is authorized to operate an off-highway vehicle on any alley or roadway, by the most direct and shortest route of travel through the Village or for service or maintenance.
• Traffic safety and provincial rules apply; equipment, speed of travel, crossing, yielding, due care and attention, licensing, insurance and registration.
• No person may operate an off-highway vehicle at a speed in excess of twenty (20) kilometers per hour on any portion of the Village of Linden highway/roadway where such vehicles are permitted to operate.
• Non-permitted areas:
o Parkland
o Environmental sensitive areas (coulee)
o School ground
o Developed or landscaped area
o Recreation area
o Private property without permission of owner or occupant
o Trail system
