With only a few weeks left of summer, we start looking forward to the start of another cadet year. Even more packed with activities, greater leadership roles, and opportunities for growth and lifelong memories.

We'll be starting the Cadet year up on Tuesday September 8th, 1830-2000 (630-8pm)at Victoria Park Armoury, 210 Kent Street West, Lindsay. This first evening will deal mostly with administration so we can jump right into action the weeks following. All Parade nights following, will be 1830-2115 (630-915pm).
Entrance is made through the double doors off Sussex Street. (The west side of the building off the parking lot)

Any youth aged 12-18 who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or landed immigrants are welcome to join. Recruits are welcomed anytime during the school year.

Summer activities $0
Total cost to parents/guardian: zero dollars.
(We do however, have a small canteen on parade nights the cadets can by some snacks)

Learn citizenship, leadership, survival, military drill, marksmanship, expedition exercises etc etc

Then come in on Tuesday September 8th, (or any Tuesday night after that) around 630pm. Bring your proof of eligibility (one of the following: passport, birth certificate or landed immigrant certificate) and Validated Health Card. a parent or legal guardian, and any friends or family you think may be interested.

We also welcome adult volunteers on the training or support committee side, with flexible commitments. If you can help every Tuesday night, just once a month, or a few times a year we'd love to hear from you. (Requires VSC Vulnerable Sector Check)

2817 assisted with the Decoration Day service held at Riverside Cemetary helping put a flag on each service members plot.
I wish to take a second to thank each one who took the time out if their summer to help. Very Proud of you all!!!

2817 had a amazing day at the Canadian Tank Museum in Oshawa followed hy a special treat at the Mandarin restaurant. A huge shout out to our support committee for making this happen, thank you!!!.

Its a wrap on another training year with a great Annual Ceremonial Review. The Cadets did a fantastic job and the staff are so proud. A huge thank you to the support from our Support Committee, the parents, the Army Cadet League, and our local supportes. Congratulations to our award winners. Cadets who completed their first year of training were presented with their beret.

The calm before the big day...
