Greetings Nobles,

Here are some photos of the Sudbury Shrine Club band trailer that underwent refurbishment this fall after the Providence Bay fall fair parade in August. Noble Dave Marshall and I took advantage of the nice days in September and October to do the trailer work.

The band trailer was stripped down, new tires were installed on all 4 wheels, new seats were fabricated and painted, a new storage box was fabricated and painted, the complete trailer was painted with an oil based paint which should last a few years and the 2 old tires on rims were installed at the back as spares should we need to fix a flat on the road.

I will pull the band trailer in the Sudbury Santa Claus parade on November 21st and it will be a great opportunity for the Nobles, Ladies and guests to bundle up and ride in the band trailer during the parade.

Noble Jim will be bringing the Scimitar from the island for the Sudbury Santa Claus parade and taking the band trailer back to the island for winter storage. The Scimitar trailer will stay in Sudbury for the Capreol Santa Claus parade on the following Saturday, November 28th, and I will bring the Scimitar back to the island for winter storage. It would be very nice if the band trailer could be stored in a barn or hard covered structure for the winter to help keep it looking nice. The Scimitar trailer would also benefit from covered storage as well if we can find enough space.

Oct 3 saw the annual Little Current General Membership meeting held at the Little Current Legion. As always, a great lunch and seeing old friends makes it a wonderful day. Add in the spectacular fall colours for the drive and we are off to the races

Sudbury Shrine Club Hillbilly Unit Annual Fish Dinner was held Saturday.
Special thanks to Jim for assisting with the Fresh Manitoulin Rainbow Trout.
Our Penny Table run by Marion was overflowing with wonderful items donated by members or their families.
Lots of laughs and groans were heard as the tickets were drawn by Stan with some of us going home with nothing and others with 4-5 items.
Merv ran the fish races which was won by Willie & Ruby.
Dinner consisted of Fresh Baked seasoned Rainbow Trout with lemon & tartar sauce, oven roasted potatoes, homemade coleslaw and buns.
Of course there’s always room for dessert
Marion’s amazing homemade fruit pies with ice cream provided by Chuck.
Next event will be towards end of October details to follow.

Saturday saw the final parade of our 2026 Manitoulin Summer Parades. This time it was the Providence Bay Fair. Although it is a fairly short parade in length, it is one of the best attended parades that we do. Lots of folks on the streets, and lots of Shriners, especially from the Haweaters Unit make for a great way to spend a Saurday
