Too important not to share. The government is offering funding to recruit and retain healthcare professionals. If anyone has experience with grant writing, recruiting and retention, now is the time to apply.

I'm sure it's not news that Liverpool and South Queens could benefit from dentists, doctors and other health care professionals!

The Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR) Community Fund provides funding to help communities recruit, welcome and retain healthcare professionals.

A great afternoon had by all at our June Business After Hours event at the Brooklyn Marina!

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to Clair, Loris, Tina, Kim, Melanie, Lois, Carol and Heather for planning, coordinating, and welcoming all of the chamber members and guests who graced us with their presence.

We loved learning more about the Marina and look forward to future collabs! Check out Marina memberships, no boat, no problem.

Introducing Tap&Go! South Queens is now an official Tap&Go community!

Look for these decals in windows and storefronts and scan them for more info and to discover local restaurants, shopping, activities, services and tourist destinations.

YMCA Southwest Nova Scotia is recruiting board members. Have a peek at their request, they would love the support and engagement of the community!

We’re Looking for Community Leaders! 📣

The YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia is dedicated to building healthy communities where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive. Through programs that support health and wellness, child and youth development, and community connection, we serve thousands of individuals and families across rural Southwest Nova Scotia each year.

Our Board of Directors plays an important role in guiding this work—helping ensure the YMCA continues to grow, innovate, and respond to the evolving needs of our communities.

We are currently seeking volunteer candidates to fill at least four (4) Board positions, each with a three-year term.

If you are passionate about community impact and would like to help shape the future of the YMCA, we’d love to hear from you.

📧 To express your interest, please email [email protected]
Include your CV and a brief description of why you are interested in the volunteer position.

Together, we can continue strengthening our community.

Have a villain inspired afternoon at the Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room!

Have a villain inspired afternoon at the Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room!

Last summer, something truly magical happened in Port Medway. Our dear friend Natalie Zina Walschots came and stayed in our backyard camper and finished writing Villain, her second novel (the sequel to the wildly popular Hench).

Villain is now released to the world, and the book is literally dedicated to Rosefinch. So we are having an all-day celebration in our store of Natalie, Villain, friendship, art, community, and the joy of saying yes to a very good bit.

We have never done anything quite like this before. Possibly no one has? But here is what we have planned:

Haritha is creating a one-day-only villain-themed Afternoon Tea menu, and Natalie will read an excerpt from Villain at each seating before the trays arrive.

You can book your seating here: https://rosefinch.co/products/villain-tea

After the final tea, Natalie will do a Q&A with Jackie Stanley of Cursed Arrows.

There will also be villain face painting by Céline Godeau, whose IMDb page is frankly ridiculous; tattoos by the super talented Han Frandsen, so show up early to get a spot; evil chocolates by none other than Jairus Khan; and a villain-inspired craft table for anyone who wants to get crafty and sinister with us.

Signed copies of Hench and Villain will be available for purchase during the event.

Please come be part of this extremely special, extremely weird, extremely Rosefinch day.

June 21
10am–5pm
