Congratulations to Laney Younghans!

We are proud to announce Laney as the recipient of this year’s Dustin Cody McConnell Memorial Scholarship.

Dustin passed away tragically in 2010, but his memory continues to make an impact through this scholarship. The Dustin McConnell Memorial Golf Tournament brings together family, friends, and community members to honour Dustin’s life while raising funds to support students pursuing careers in healthcare.

Laney, who attends the University of Saskatchewan, is heading into her second year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program. We are excited to support her as she continues her education and works toward a future in healthcare.

A sincere thank you to everyone who participates in and supports the golf tournament. Your generosity helps keep Dustin’s memory alive and makes scholarships like this possible.

Congratulations, Laney, and best of luck in your second year!

Congratulations to Avery! ✨
Recipient of this year’s Jane Ruptash Scholarship!

Avery is entering her third year at MacEwan University, pursuing her nursing education with the goal of becoming a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse. We are so proud of the hard work and commitment she has put into her journey toward a career in healthcare.

The Jane Ruptash Scholarship honours the legacy of Jane Ruptash, whose compassion, empathy and kindness embodied the true spirit of nursing. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a student who carries these same values forward in their journey to becoming a nurse.

Avery shared, “I hope to honour Jane’s legacy by providing the same kindness and commitment to my future patients.”

The Ruptash family, together with the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, is proud to continue honouring Jane’s memory by supporting the next generation of caregivers.

Congratulations again, Avery — we can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make in healthcare!

Because of YOU…

In 2019, with the support of our community and project partners, a new helipad was installed at Lloydminster Hospital, allowing STARS to land directly at the hospital.

Before the helipad, EMS ground ambulance crews were needed to transport aircrews between Lloydminster Hospital and the airport, located 10 kilometres away. Today, STARS can arrive directly at the hospital, helping streamline critical patient transfers, reduce unnecessary transportation and support patient stability.

When every minute matters, more direct access to critical care can make a difference.
