The City of London has released the draft of its new zoning by-law, giving Londoners an opportunity to explore what is being proposed across the city, learn what it could mean for different areas, ask questions and provide feedback before the proposed by-law goes to Council for approval.

Through the ReThink Zoning engagement initiative, the City is providing information and tools to help Londoners understand the draft zoning by-law and what it could mean for their property and neighbourhood.

The draft zoning by-law supports the planning direction set out in The London Plan (London’s Official Plan). It sets out the rules for how properties can be used and developed across London.

Public engagement will continue throughout October and November, with Londoners invited to review the draft, and ask questions and provide feedback until November 20.

In-person drop-in sessions are planned at:
• South London Community Centre on October 22 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
• Sherwood Library branch on October 27 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Beacock Library branch on November 3 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
• Bostwick Library branch on November 6 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.
• Covent Garden Market Pop-Up Booth on October 27 and November 3 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

A Community Information Session will also be held at Goodwill Industries (Horton Street) on Tuesday, November 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. The session will include a formal presentation and an opportunity to ask questions.

After the engagement period, the City will share what is heard, identify common themes, and explain changes made where applicable.

VOTE for LOIS WARD for WARD 10 on October 26th! Another huge thank you to my sign waving team. It's so much fun to get waves and smiles and honks of support. This morning we also got a bus load of kids singing to us. Glorious!

The London chapter of the Afghan Canadian Youth Council met with Pillar Nonprofit representatives to work on next steps to creating governance documents and board training. The conversation got the ACYC to a good start. So much promise for their future.

Sometimes friends open their doors when I'm canvassing and we can spend a few minutes catching up. Choosing the company of friends is another way to refresh myself in the campaign trail.
