Shout out to our friend Shawn who loves to provide our Coffee House family with a GOOD cup of coffee. He has told us many times he believes a good (or better) cup of coffee can change someone’s day.

Shawn often donates cream to elevate our coffee experience 😀. Do we love it? We sure do!

A good cup of coffee, paired with a great meal like the one shown here, can make quite a difference in someone’s day.

And a big thanks to Deb who donated ham! She knew it would be made into a delicious, comforting meal. ❤️

With temperatures dropping at night, we would love donations of jackets and warm coats, hand warmers, gloves and hats for both men and women.

Donations are welcome 9:30-12:30, 7 days a week at 371 Hamilton Road (at Redan). Please come to the rear gate.

Someone’s Someone indeed. Fraz is a friend and great help around the Coffee House.

The London Coffee House is a busy place and a lot happens during 3 service hours each day (365 days / year). Clients drop in, connect with staff and one another. It’s a place to check in, celebrate small victories, be supported, offer support and know that they belong.

We are grateful for the clients we have gotten to know, and those we are still getting to know.

We’re also grateful for volunteers who assemble bag lunches for us each week with such care. They made Thanksgiving weekend extra special. Thanks to Dundas Centre United Church and Wesley Knox United Church for so generously showing up for us on Saturday mornings. Bag lunches are so appreciated by all of us!

Thanks also to our amazing staff. Whether it’s a special occasion or change of season they always make things extra special with activities and festive decor.

We are grateful for so much.

A message from our friends at OEV Cares:

Peter and “OEV Cares” were honoured to serve a delicious Thanksgiving meal to our London Coffee House friends today. Thank you to our volunteers Linda, Lisa, Leslie and Dave, along with our longtime supporters. Mayor Josh Morgan and his Chief of Staff, John-Fyfe Miller, for helping to prepare and serve the meal. We continue to provide advocacy to our city council and mayor, as they need to witness the struggles that our many vulnerable friends are facing on a daily basis. For many of them, it is not about affordability; it is about surviving! Thank you, Josh and John, for visiting, listening, serving, and understanding.

“OEV Cares” would like to thank the London Coffee House for the support, comfort and hope that they provide their guests seven days a week. They have graciously welcomed our assistance whenever we are needed. Thank you to Krista and her caring colleagues, who work tirelessly to serve our friends, even as the number of visits they receive, continues to increase.

Thank you to our Coffee House participants for the honour of providing you with a hearty meal, a coffee, and conversation. You are the reason why we all gathered today. You motivate us to work diligently on your behalf. You teach us the importance of patience and kindness, and you help us to realize that your dignity, well-being, and safety are our ultimate goals. Thank you for your friendship and trust.

To Peter and OEV Cares volunteers —thank you again. We left today with full hearts and a reminder of the wonderful community we’re part of.

What a day! What a beautiful day to spend with our Coffee House family and incredible volunteers and supporters celebrating Thanksgiving.

We are so grateful to OEV Cares for providing this delicious Thanksgiving meal. They do so much for our program with such kindness and compassion. Thank you for inviting Mayor Josh Morgan to help serve today. Coffee House clients and volunteers really appreciated the opportunity to share stories, share their interests and be heard.

Huge thanks to Peter and OEV Cares volunteers: Leslie, Linda, and Lisa, Tara from Tuna Tuesdays EO Ash (thank you for joining us on a Wednesday Tara!), Dave in the kitchen and Leah who is brand new! We say ‘Coffee House family’ because we are very much one big family.

Thank you to Paul who generously gives art work to special guests and he had a great discussion with the mayor about the art he loves to do —including beautiful dream catchers.

Thanks also to our incredible staff and leadership teams who pack so much into 3 service hours every day and always manage to make events like today extra special.

We are grateful. 🦃❤️☕️
And pumpkin pie with whipped cream is a definite favourite!

Tick-tock friends.

Our coordinator Jodie asked that we put a call out for wrist watches and calendars to support clients with staying organized and on time for appointments. Not everyone has a smart phone in their pocket showing the current time.

Having a place to write down appointments and a watch to help with getting places on time would be a terrific help.

Huge thanks to Costco Tom who did the shopping and delivery for the Wordlers.

September saw Chris with the top score and he chose the Coffee House as the organization to support.

This morning Tom delivered 26kg of sugar (for our more than 200 cups of coffee per day) and 8kg of peanut butter —great on bagels and breads that are donated.

Huge thanks to Tom and our Wordler friends for thinking of the Coffee House!

We are always in need of ground coffee, sugar (we’re ok at the moment!) and coffee whitener. With temperatures cooling, packets of oatmeal are very much appreciated as are individual snack items, soup crackers, soup broth (vegetable or chicken).

We are grateful to our generous community of supporters. Have we mentioned lately we have great neighbours? Many drop by with needed items and we so appreciate this.

What a day! Today was a celebration with our friends from Lutheran Social Services. Linda, Deb and Pastor Dave joined us for lunch today, serving our clients a fabulous barbecue lunch.

Huge thanks to Dave, Mark and Mandi from the CMHA TV Helpers and our CMHA TV CEO Pam Tobin for helping to provide a great end of season lunch. A big shout out to volunteer Dave for a great salad and to Coffee House staff for all the extras today.

Paul created a beautiful piece of artwork to thank our friends for their wonderful support in helping us purchase a new barbecue and racking for our donation sorting area.

Thanks everyone for a great day!

We have some catching up to do! If we had tails, they’d be wagging!

We told you our emergency pet food cupboards were bare and this compassionate and mighty family of supporters we have showed up for us in such a big and beautiful way! ❤️

Costco Tom has been by 3 times in recent days. Why? He talks to people and shares what our needs are. Friends and acquaintances alike have passed pet food and other items to Tom and he has generously delivered to us.

So many of you so generously helped us and for that we are so grateful. We think it’s safe to say cat and dog people are definitely our people. Your kindness and compassion runs deep.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
