Peaceful Parks has suspended activity on Facebook because of its ban on Canadian news stories. We cannot share news articles where we have been mentioned. We are also suspending activity on Facebook because of Mark Zuckerberg's close ties to the Trump administration, and are participating in a new call from south of the border to walk away from 'tech' companies.
This is a consumer focused action against the giant tech companies.
Rarely, do we consider the 'guts' of how this technology is fueled. We may believe everything is up in the clouds, but it is not. Large data centres to fuel AI systems use a tremendous amount of energy, so much so, that its use is being subsidized by everyday people through prices increases on their electricity bills.
