No One Is Illegal (London, Ontario) is a group of immigrants, refugees, newcomers and allies who fight for the rights of all migrants to live with dignity and respect. No One Is Illegal acts to expose and educate against injustice from an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-patriarchal, anti-ableist, anti-classist, anti-authoritarian and a q***r positive perspective, while asserting a vision f
or open borders and social and economic justice. We work to combat racial profiling, detentions, deportations, police and state brutality, wage slavery and all forms of indignity. We respect a diversity of mutually reinforcing tactics, including popular education and direct action. We are in active confrontation with a colonial system built on the dispossession and genocide of indigenous peoples, as well as racist anti-immigrant laws. We maintain that there are no illegal human beings, only inhumane laws and illegal states. The very basis of labeling entire communities as "illegal aliens", "non-status" or "status Indian" aims to reinforce an apartheid system; we reject any government's right to grant such status. We stand in solidarity with indigenous struggles against colonization across Turtle Island and also place ourselves within the broader movement for global justice struggling against capitalism, homophobia, occupation, patriarchy, poverty, war, and other systems of oppression and exploitation because we recognize that these are interconnected systems of oppression and domination that reflect and reinforce each other. We educate against injustice from all these perspectives and act to eradicate all these systems of exploitation and oppression. We organize from the basic principle that directly affected communities and individuals lead their own struggles for justice and self-determination. Those of us who participate in these struggles as allies do so from a position of solidarity not charity. We see strength in our unity and real justice will come as communities in struggle build greater trust in visions of an alternate world and organize, educate, act and fight for their own self-determination. Our work is carried out through various strategies including public awareness events, direct support with refugees, undocumented migrants and indigenous defenders, fighting back through rallies and direct actions, and ongoing campaigns and projects.
