Day of Caring is what happens when people come together and say, “How can we help?” 💙

Our volunteers spent the day rolling up their sleeves and supporting local organizations through hands-on projects that make a real difference.

From planting and painting to packing and cleaning, every task helped create stronger spaces and supported the important work happening across our community.

💙 A huge thank you to the team at DMAC automation ltd. for giving back to our community!

What started as a goal to fill 4 backpacks turned into 7 backpacks filled with school supplies and healthy snacks for local kids heading back to school. 🎒📚🍎

We’re so grateful for the generosity of the DMAC team and for their support of Ignite Youth Centre’s Community Free Market. It’s community-minded businesses like this that help make sure local kids have what they need to start the school year feeling ready and supported.

A new school year means new backpacks, fresh supplies, and big opportunities. But for some local families, getting everything they need for that first day can be a challenge.

That’s where **Best First Day** comes in. Together, we can help local children head back to school feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Way back in 1976, the Ivey Foundation made a grant of $100,000 to let United Way Elgin Middlesex (then called The United Way of Greater London) purchase and move into the location we still work from today. Over 50 years, this gift has given us stability, security, and served as a meeting place for hundreds of groups working together to improve our community. Thank you so much to the Ivey Foundation for an investment that is still an immense value to us in doing our work!

For 26 years, LiUNA Local 1059's Charity Golf Tournament has united golfers, around one shared goal: strengthening our community.

This year, that commitment reached an extraordinary milestone with a $300,000 donation.

Every dollar invested helps support local programs and services that provide essential needs, housing stability, mental health supports, inclusion and belonging, and services for those experiencing gender-based violence.

Congratulations to Ryan Aarts of J-AAR - this year's winner of the 2026 Jim MacKinnon Community Builder Award.
