This vehicle has been impounded and the driver suspended as a result of travelling nearly double the posted speed limit on in Thames Centre over the weekend. A 28-year-old of Kitchener was charged with Stunt driving and Careless Driving.

Public Assistance Request – Highway 403 Incident (May 31, 2026)

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a serious incident that occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Highway 403 westbound near Rest Acres Road.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had gone airborne and landed in the median ditch. Upon arrival, officers located a black Lamborghini resting in the centre ditch, with debris scattered across the westbound lanes.

Preliminary information indicates that a motorcycle and the Lamborghini had been racing on Pottruff Road prior to entering Highway 403. The motorcycle stopped, and the driver fled the scene. The Lamborghini continued onto the highway, became airborne, cleared both westbound lanes, and came to rest in the median.

Investigators are asking anyone who was travelling in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam footage or eyewitness information, to come forward. Your information may be critical in advancing this investigation.

Youth in Policing Initiative – Brant County OPP

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police are pleased to offer the Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI), an eight-week summer employment program designed to provide local youth with hands-on experience in a policing environment while building strong community connections.

This paid opportunity is open to students aged 15–18 who reside in the County of Brant, have a clean criminal record, and are returning to school in the fall. Participants will gain valuable workplace skills, develop leadership abilities, and work alongside members of the OPP in a variety of community-focused roles.

To apply, students are required to submit a resume along with a short essay outlining their interest in the program, the skills they bring, and what they hope to gain from the experience.

Applications must be submitted by June 12, 2026.

Driver Charged Following Impaired Driving Investigation

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A driver is facing impaired driving charges following an investigation by the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police.

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers received a report of two vehicles street racing on Pottruff Road in the County of Brant.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old individual from Paris, Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
Fail to Attend for Court, as per undertaking

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on July 10, 2026.

The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving, whether by alcohol or drugs, remains a leading cause of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
