Dolly Parton was a legendary musician, songwriter, author and lifelong champion of literacy. Today, we honour her life and legacy.

Through her Imagination Library, Dolly helped put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world, inspiring generations to discover the joy of reading.

Her legacy will live on in the songs we sing, the stories we share, and every child who opens a book and begins to imagine what’s possible.

In her honour, our staff have put together a reading list celebrating some of the stories, authors and books that remind us of Dolly. 📖

Thank you, Dolly, for helping make the world a little brighter, one book at a time. 💗

Celebrate the centenary year of James Reaney with a special film screening at Central Library. 🎬

Join the London Public Library and Nancy Johnson, Producer and President of Lockwood Films, London, for a screening of the 1996 documentary James Reaney: Listening to the Wind.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Mark McCurdy, the film explores the life and work of James Crerar Reaney, the Canadian poet, playwright, and professor whose imagination, wit, and vision helped shape how Southwestern Ontario saw its own stories.

Need help feeling more confident with technology? TechKnow is back this fall. 💻

TechKnow: Technology for Seniors offers free technology support for older adults in small, welcoming classes at Library branches across London.

Fall registration begins August 25, with sessions running at Byron, Pond Mills, Masonville, Stoney Creek, Beacock, Central Library, Sherwood, and Bostwick.
