Historic places week has begun! ⚜️⛺️

From July 12-18, we’re celebrating Historic Places Week at the Fortress of Louisbourg!

Stop by our waterfront to meet our incredible Louisbourg Militia, who will be camped here all week. They’ll be sharing stories about the civilian militia and selling their beautiful hand-crafted pewter items! 🥄🪙

So while you’re here, go get yourself a glass of Louisbourg rum, learn about the 18th century and make sure to visit our militia and some of our other reenactor friends scattered around the fortress.

📍 We’re in Shoulder Season at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site!

🤔What is Shoulder Season, you might ask? What does that mean? Shoulder Season starts today, May 18th and will end on June 30th, 2026.

📅We are open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, you can explore several of our buildings featuring exhibits. By the end of June, the site will start to come alive with costumed interpreters as we gear up for peak season. 🎉

We can’t wait to see you in Louisbourg! 🏰
