Notice to Residents: The Salmon Stream pedestrian bridge by the Blue Ox Pub is being refurbished. This pedestrian bridge will be closed to the public effective today, August 24th 2026 until approximately the end of September.

Please use the crosswalk on the other side of Vernon street and the walking path on the other side of the concrete bridge until this work is complete.

Dear Village residents,

If the AQ is 10 or higher tomorrow (August 12th), we will again be opening the Community Hall and Arena for people to escape the smoke in partnership with White Valley Parks, Recreation & Culture.

We hope that the weather changes and you get to be outside enjoying our beautiful parks and pool, but if the air quality is poor, we will open some facilities for your enjoyment!

White Valley Community Hall will be open from 10am-12:45pm for anyone to come in and enjoy. Adult supervision is required and you must check-in with Jay at the Recreation Office in the hall.

Pat Duke Memorial Arena will be open from 12-3pm for floor hockey. Please bring your own equipment and adult supervision is required.

Due to ongoing smoke effecting the enjoyment of the outdoors and the pool, the Village of Lumby and White Valley Parks, Recreation & Culture have opened the following times and facilities for public enjoyment at no cost.

White Valley Community Hall will be open from 11am to 12:45pm for children to run and play. Parental supervision is required. Please check in with Jay at the Recreation office.

Pat Duke Arena will be open for floor hockey from 1-3pm today. Parental supervision is required and you must bring your own equipment. Nets will be provided.

These are not recurring events. If the smoke continues, we will look into availability of facilities around existing bookings!

Notice of Nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election

Please note that no recreation off-road vehicle use is permitted in the Village.

Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.
