Today was one of our final summer camps, Go! Science with the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

The children had a fantastic time learning all about water through exciting, hands-on experiments and interactive activities.

A recap, just incase your children came home and told you they did "nothing" 🤣 (maybe it's only mine that say that).

Gills to Gulls- Learn about a variety of creatures that live near or in water! Participants will explore different creatures in aquatic environments. Kids will learn about habitats, the difference in animal traits, and how these traits help them thrive.

Water we Doing? - Water is essential to life and humans have invented clever ways to work with it! Participants will dive into the science and engineering through creations like dams, aqueducts, waterwheels, submarines and much more.

Surf and Turf - What happens when land meets water? Kids will explore how rivers, wetlands, and shorelines are shaped by moving water. Youth will learn how water can create, change, and reshape the Earth over time.

This wonderful program was made possible through funding from the Community Initiatives Fund(CIF). We are grateful for their support in bringing fun, educational opportunities like this to the children and families in our community.

📚🚐 Meet Jake--One of the Friendly Faces Behind Our Book Deliveries! 🚐📚

Have you ever wondered how books from libraries all across Saskatchewan make their way to the Kindersley Library? Meet Jake, one of two Wheatland Regional Library drivers who service our area! ❤️

Jake brings us our book deliveries twice a week, travelling the highways and byways to keep our library connected with collections from all over the province. And he always arrives with a smile, a friendly wave, and, of course, a van full of books! 😊📚

We are so grateful for the miles Jake--and our other driver--put in to keep books moving and make it possible for our patrons to access materials from libraries across Saskatchewan.

So the next time you see the Wheatland Regional Library van on the highway, give Jake a honk and a wave! 👋📣

Mark your calendars!

The SPSA Fire Safety Presentations and Community BBQ in support of the Library will take place on Friday, August 28th, starting at 11:30am.

Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog will be in attendance, as well as some of our local Luseland Fire Department members!

The public education summer program aims to strengthen public safety in the province by delivering emergency preparedness and fire safety education to students across Saskatchewan.
SPSA summer students (Public Education Program Coordinators) travel the province delivering fire‑safety programming to schools, libraries, and daycares through presentations, activities, and visits from Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog.

Art Encompassed joined us at the library for our 4th Art Class of the summer. Today’s artistic medium - air dry clay!

If I get the chance, I always like to sit in on Jared’s classes and let my own creative side show. I have to say, as messy as clay is, it’s one of my favorite classes that Jared does.

As a group we made cute little gnomes, and then the kids had to chance to design their own items.

Check out some of these AMAZING clay sculptures done today. From mini teapots, ghosts and charcuterie boards, the ideas kept flowing and the kids had us in awe.
Next week we will paint our sculptures.

Did your child miss out?
We should have space for a few kids to make their own clay sculptures next Thursday at 2pm.
