District of Mackenzie

District of Mackenzie Mackenzie is a community of 4000 and lies at the southern end of Williston Lake, the largest man-made reservoir in British Columbia.

Mackenzie is a recreational hub with natural and man-made trail systems in place that contribute to the region’s outdoor recreation tourism sector. Aside from the astounding recreational opportunities, Mackenzie's location provides strategic access to a resource planning area larger than Vancouver Island (6,130,604 hectares). Excellent air, ground, rail and marine transportation links are the meth

ods of access to forestry operations, mining and energy. Currently, Mackenzie is home to several large industrial facilities including a major sawmills, power facility, data centre, and two area mines. Mackenzie is a modern community working to diversify its forest based economy and expand into viable secondary industries. For new business prospects, the District boasts low land costs, and low tax rates. Further, businesses may qualify for business incentives available from Northern Development Initiative Trust that have supported multi-million dollar investments in Mackenzie in the past number of years.
