The Municipal Animal Control Officer, Livestock Loss Evaluator and Poundkeeper is responsible for responding to animal-related complaints, assisting with the enforcement of municipal animal control by-laws, investigating livestock and poultry losses, and providing humane care and secure containment for animals that are running at large, trespassing, impounded or otherwise detained. The position requires sound judgement, professionalism, careful documentation, and the ability to work independently in irregular and emergency situations.

The Township of Madoc Fire Department is seeking a Part-Time Fire Prevention Officer to support fire safety and compliance efforts through inspections, education, plan reviews, and enforcement of applicable fire codes. This role supports the Fire Chief and helps protect life and property by promoting safe practices across residential, commercial and public facilities.

Location: 15651 Highway 62, Eldorado, ON
Salary: Standby $804.55 per year, plus $21.83 per hour, +4% vacation in accordance with the Employment Standards Act
Hours: up to 16 hours per week, as required.

The Township of Madoc is seeking to employ a qualified Treasurer/Tax Collector who exercises general control and management of day-to-day financial operations ensuring the efficient and effective financial operations of the municipality - as directed by Council and statute. The incumbent fulfills the statutory duties required of the position within the guidelines of legislation and policy. The Treasurer/Tax Collector is the primary liaison with the municipal auditors and performs the accounting function for Madoc Township.

Another scorcher is upon us. With temperatures in the mid to high 30s and humidity in the 40s it's going to be a hot one. Avoid strenuous outdoor activities and keep an eye out for the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion & heat stroke. Check on family and neighbors especially those with chronic illness, the elderly and children.

Reminder, the Township of Madoc Rec centre will be open as a cooling centre today from 8am-4pm. 15651 Hwy 62 Eldorado.
