Friday, October 23 — Thank You, Local Businesses!

Small businesses make a BIG difference in a small community.
As Small Business Week comes to a close, the Municipality of Magnetawan and the Magnetawan Economic Tourism Committee would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our local business owners and entrepreneurs.

Thank you for investing in our community, creating jobs, providing services, welcoming visitors and helping Magnetawan grow.

And to our residents and visitors — remember that supporting local doesn't end with Small Business Week!

Shop Local. Eat Local. Hire Local. Recommend Local.
Together, we can help Magnetawan businesses thrive.

Thursday, October 22 — Think Local First

Before you click “Add to Cart”… could you find it locally?
Supporting local doesn't always mean spending more.

Sometimes it simply means thinking local first.

Grab a meal locally
Visit a local shop
Hire a local contractor
Purchase from a local maker
Recommend a local accommodation
Follow and share a local business online
Every dollar spent locally helps strengthen our community.

Where will YOU shop local this week?

Wednesday, October 21 — Meet Our Local Businesses

Behind every small business is a big story! ❤️

Our local businesses are more than places to shop — they are our friends, neighbours, employers, entrepreneurs and community supporters.

They sponsor events, donate prizes, support community groups and help make Magnetawan a destination for residents and visitors alike.

Today’s Small Business Week challenge:
Tag a Magnetawan-area business you appreciate and tell us why!
A tag, share, recommendation or positive review costs nothing — but it can mean a lot to a small business.

Waste Reduction Week

October 19–23

The Municipality of Magnetawan is proud to recognize Waste Reduction Week, a time to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste, reusing materials and making environmentally responsible choices in our everyday lives.

Small actions can make a big difference. Whether it’s recycling properly, composting, reducing single-use items, repairing instead of replacing or reusing what we already have, every effort helps protect our environment and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.

During Waste Reduction Week, we encourage residents to:
- Reduce what you throw away
- Reuse items whenever possible
- Recycle properly
- Rethink everyday habits that create unnecessary waste

By working together, we can help keep Magnetawan clean, green and sustainable for future generations!

The Municipality of Magnetawan extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, colleagues and fellow Canadian Armed Forces members affected by the tragic fire-related training incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, Alberta.

We honour the service of those who were lost and keep their loved ones, the injured members, first responders and the entire CFB Wainwright community in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

We mourn with the Canadian Armed Forces and communities across Canada.
