Four Square Framing is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Tim Arsenault based in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Custom framing had been a side business/hobby for Tim for more than 17 years. Upon his retirement from the Nova Scotia Justice Department and to fuel his desire to continue working, Tim began the process of starting his own business. Already being an expert in and having the tools of the trade, he needed only to determine the scale of demand in his local community. Working with the Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre he developed skills, an impressive business plan, and validated the idea while collaborating with new and experienced entrepreneurs. Tim considers the business to have officially begun operations April 2013, although he had been busy assembling all aspects of his business for many months before. Tim has made many connections with established painters, photographers, and all sorts of artists who consistently need their artwork framed. He now serves a loyal client base that love his fair prices, friendly customer service, master craftsmanship, and in particular the freedom to choose from a wide variety of options to match their piece of art and personal creative style. His business has taken off from the first year of operations and has experienced steady financial growth. He wishes to see this financial growth continue, but only to a point where the workload is manageable without hiring any employees. He thoroughly enjoys serving his local community, as he always has, and having the opportunity to work from home.
