When we first shared the news of a new hospice residence planned in Markham, it marked an important step forward for our community.

Since then, the conversation has continued — and so has the recognition of just how great the need is.

While this is meaningful progress, it’s also a reminder that access to hospice and palliative care remains limited for many individuals and families.

This work is ongoing.

It takes community, awareness, and continued support to ensure that people can receive care that honours dignity, comfort, and connection at every stage of their journey.
