Markham South Asian Seniors Centre (MSASC) believes in self-sustaining communities who actively raise their voices, take leadership and challenge social injustices, both within and beyond the South Asian community. Given the multiple identities of gender, sexuality, class, religion, ethnicity and language in the diverse South Asian communities, MSASC commits to challenging multiple oppressions thr
oughout all its efforts. Starting internally, MSASC challenges biases within the South Asian community. Furthermore, MSASC works externally to address broader social injustice and build alliances between South Asians and other communities in City of Markham who struggle for long-term social change. MSASC aims to address one of the greatest challenges our generation will face – the health and wellness of our seniors. MSASC serves the seniors population in Markham and the surrounding area. As the number of seniors continues to grow, we are preparing to meet their social needs. A bold, ambitious vision responds to the changing realities of seniors social life today and MSASC envisions a seniors-friendly organization that helps our aging population achieve greater independence and quality of life.
