⏰ Deadline extended! Writers and artists — you’ve got a little more time to share your creativity with Sea & Cedar Magazine!

We’re extending the submission deadline for the Spring 2026 issue from October 30 to November 15 at 11:59 pm. That means two extra weeks to polish your poetry, refine your story, or finalize your artwork. 🎨✍️

We’re looking for previously unpublished short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and artwork from creators across Vancouver Island and beyond.

About the Branch

The iconic log building that houses the Masset Branch was the end result of a long story of libraries in the community that started in 1912. that included people's houses, schools, and more. The current library opened in 1980 under the direction of the Masset Public Library Association and officially became part of VIRL in 1983.
