Each completed community square earns one entry into the prize draw, with up to six entries (one per community).

Grand Prize: A trip for two to Gwaii Haanas in 2027 with Haida Style Expeditions!

Thank you to all those who participated in the 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge. We placed 5th in BC and although Masset, Old Massett, and Port Clements were not named a finalist, we finished just outside the top 40 communities across Canada! This is a major accomplishment considering over 375 Canadian communities participated in the challenge, and you all should be very proud.

The Village of Masset extends a huge thank you to all of the organizations and individuals who championed events throughout June and encourage all residents to continue to stay physically active throughout the year whether it be going for walks or visiting our community fitness centers. We can't wait to see you out there!

🚒 Exciting news for Masset! 🚒

Our volunteer fire department has acquired a fire truck from Prince Rupert! This is a significant addition to our fleet and will greatly enhance our community's fire protection.

A huge thank you to the City of Prince Rupert and the Prince Rupert Fire Department for making this possible at such a reasonable cost. Your support means the world to us!

We also want to recognize our incredible volunteer firefighters – your dedication and commitment to keeping our community safe is truly appreciated.

Please be bear aware!

There has been a single bear as well as a mother and cub spotted recently within the Village of Masset close to Trumpeter Drive and the Sanctuary. Residents are urged to use caution.

Help reduce the attraction for bears by removing all food sources including garbage and compost.

No Food = No Bears
