Our Grade 3/4 students put their French skills into action with an apple taste test! They sampled red, green, and yellow apples, then surveyed their classmates en français to find out which one was the class favourite.

While some of our friends headed out to cross-country today, the rest of Mrs. MacRae’s grade 4/5/6 students put their mathematical thinking to work! 🧠➕

Students challenged themselves with tangram and pentomino puzzles, using problem-solving, spatial reasoning, perseverance, and lots of trial and error to find solutions. It was great to see them working together, sharing strategies, and not giving up when a puzzle got tricky! 🧩📐

Our Grade 4/5/6 students were busy putting their multiplication strategies into action! ✖️

Students worked together to solve 2-digit × 2-digit multiplication using a variety of strategies, including base-ten blocks, area models, partial products, and the virtual manipulatives on our interactive board.

It was great to see students building the numbers, making connections between strategies, explaining their thinking, and checking their answers. Hands-on math makes those big numbers a lot less intimidating! 🧮👏
