Some big changes are coming to the library… our Painted Lady caterpillars are starting to form their chrysalises! They have been busy eating and growing the past two weeks and now it’s time for the next stage of their journey. 🦋

When they are ready, the butterflies will be released into our pollinator garden. Stay tuned for details! 🌼🪻🌸

Join us for an evening under the stars! 💫

Courtesy of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands, Astronomy in Action is coming to Maynooth on June 10th with an immersive planetarium experience. Their portable dome allows you to explore our galaxy right from the comfort of Emond Hall in Hastings Highlands Centre!

This is a free event for all ages but seating is limited and booked on a first come, first served bases. Reserve your spot for either the 5pm or 6pm show by calling the library at 613-338-2262 or emailing us at [email protected].

The sun is shining and the long weekend is approaching… it must be time for our GIANT Book Sale! 📚

From now until the end of Summer, you will find hundreds of books ready for new homes. Books are priced by donation of your choice with every penny supporting your library!

White Pine Writers is delighted to announce the release of our newest publication. This fictional tale from our own Vic A. Bodnar will be launched at the Hastings Highlands Public Library Saturday June 6th from 12-2pm. Signed copies will be available at this time. Come join us.

May's Calendar of Events is now available! This month, we will have Service Canada in the library on Tuesday, May 12th from 10am-12pm to discuss the Canadian Dental Plan.

Then on Wednesday, May 20th, Community Employment Services will be in the library for one-on-one support. This is by appointment only, so if you are interested, please call 613-332-1743 ext. 1, text 613-707-5311, or email [email protected]

We will also be beginning our annual Giant Book Sale on Friday, May 15th. This will run through the summer.
