Before you pour that first cup of coffee or fill up the kettle—please remember that we are **currently under a Boil Water Advisory**.

That means all water intended for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, etc. should be brought to a rolling boil first. We know—it’s an extra step, but safety always comes first!

✅ To lift the advisory, we are required to receive **two consecutive passed water test results**. As soon as that happens, we’ll let you know right away.

🕒 The Future of Time Change in Manitoba 🕒

In much of Canada, people adjust their clocks in the Spring and Fall by an hour to change when daylight hours fall.

In March, clocks are set forward by one hour to Daylight Saving Time (DST), meaning the sun comes out later in the morning and stays out later in the evening.

In November, the clocks are set backwards by one hour to Standard Time (ST), meaning the sun comes out earlier in the morning and sets earlier in the evening.

Saskatchewan and Yukon no longer change the time, and Alberta, NWT and BC are in the process of stopping the time change. Saskatchewan uses permanent Standard Time, while Yukon, BC, NWT and Alberta use permanent Daylight Saving Time.

A recent analysis by Manitoba Health concluded that eliminating the time change would be better for population health than maintaining the status quo. You can read the full report on health impacts here(External link).

With wind gusts of 60-80 km/h forecast to be widespread, and some areas potentially experiencing gusts over 100 km/h, it is anticipated to be a challenging situation.
