Frontenac Provincial Park A four season backcountry Provincial Park nestled within the Frontenac Arch. You'll discover a diverse range of habitats, plants and animals here in Frontenac.

Frontenac Provincial Park is located in Sydenham, ON - about 40 mins north of Kingston, ON. Nestled within the Frontenac Arch, Frontenac has a unique landscape not typically found in Southern Ontario. With upland forests, rocky ridges and tranquil lakes, where the camping is only accessible to paddlers, backpackers and snowshoers. With 22 lakes and over 100 kms of trails, there is ample opportunit

ies to explore year-round! Park maps are available at the park office. Snowshoe rentals are available through the park office during the winter months. In the winter, Big Salmon Lake Roads closes and is track set for cross-country skiing. For more advanced skiers looking for a challenge, explore our trail network for a backcountry skiing experience! Frontenac has a total of 51 campsites - 48 sites in a cluster style and 3 single sites. All campsites feature a firepit, picnic table, food locker and either a privy or a thunderbox. Reservations are available between April 28 - Oct 30. Camping is on a first-come, first-serve basis the rest of the year. Permits are still required to be picked up at the park office during this time.

Don't let ticks ruin your weekend in the woods. Learn how to protect yourself:
๐Ÿž Wear light coloured clothing, long sleeves and tuck your pants into your socks.
๐Ÿž Use insect repellent containing deet.
๐Ÿž Conduct tick checks when you come in for the outdoors.
๐Ÿž If you find a tick, properly remove it and place it in a container. Visit www.etick.ca for tick identification.
๐Ÿž Additionally, you may contact your family doctor for questions on Lyme disease and follow-up.

Today marks International Museum Day! Did Frontenac Park has a museum of it's own?

It starts with the parks Visitor Centre, but it doesn't end there. You can find special historical points such as old homesteads, mines, and more scattered throughout Frontenac Park! Each of these historical points are indicated on the park maps, as well as on the trail with interpretive signage.

Get out and explore Frontenac see if you can find a place of history on one of our many trails.

๐ŸŒณ Outside office hours, please obtain all camping & day-use permits online:

๐ŸŒณ Campsites reservations are available year-round. Reservations can be made up to 5 months in advance.
๐ŸŒณ Campers are no longer required to check-in at the park office if they have a reservation but must have a copy of their reservation confirmation letter.
