FIRST PLACE | HALE STORM

Four years. So many close calls. One very unfortunate incident at virtual golf that we probably shouldn’t discuss in detail. And finally, the Hale brothers are Race for Hunger CHAMPIONS.

Hale Storm came into this race with a reputation. They have won Family Feud Canada, they have come incredibly close to winning the Race for Hunger more than once, and year after year they have returned determined that this would finally be their year.

Last year, their race was derailed by an injury in a location that made the story both unfortunate and just a little bit funny. This year, they came back healthy, determined and ready to finish what they started.

Over four years, the Hale brothers have become woven into the fabric of this race. They bring the competition, the laughs and the kind of energy that makes Race for Hunger what it is. So when Hale Storm came running toward that finish line in first place, the cheers were LOUD.

It really did feel like a Cinderella story. After years of watching them come so close, everyone knew what that moment meant.
Of course, we also have to acknowledge what may have finally been the missing piece. This year they brought in a third Hale brother as their Marshall. Coincidence? We’ll let you decide.

To the Hale brothers, we could not be happier for you. You kept coming back, you kept chasing that first place finish, and this year you finally got it.

Congratulations Hale Storm, your 2026 Race for Hunger CHAMPIONS.
This one was worth the wait.

TOP THREE SPOTLIGHT
SECOND PLACE | CHROME PONY CLUB

They came to prove that oilfield guys can compete at a high level and that being efficiency driven really is the best way to get things done. The Chrome Pony Club did exactly that.

These two Iron Horse employees showed up ready to compete long before race day even began. They were absolute fundraising powerhouses, and the competitive spirit they brought helped ignite something pretty incredible among all of our teams. Teams pushed harder, fundraising climbed higher, and together our racers achieved record breaking team fundraising numbers.

On race day, the Ponies faced their share of adversity, but they kept moving, kept strategizing and kept finding the most efficient way forward.

They pushed an unbelievable 540 pounds on a sled, battled their way through every challenge we threw at them and, perhaps most impressively, mastered saying the alphabet backwards. Because apparently pushing 540 pounds wasn’t enough of a skill set to take home from the Race for Hunger.

They came to compete, they made the entire field more competitive, and they raced their way to an incredible second place finish.

Congratulations, Chrome Pony Club. You proved the Ponies could run with the best of them, and you definitely made this year’s race more fun along the way.

Thank you to all of the photographers that donated their time on Saturday to capture these incredible memories

TOP THREE SPOTLIGHT
THIRD PLACE | YING YANG TWINZ

They came to win this year, and they certainly made us work to keep them from getting there.

A huge congratulations to Keith and Chan of the Ying Yang Twinz, both from Methanex, who battled their way into the Race for Hunger Winners’ Circle with an incredible third place finish.

These two faced their fair share of adversity throughout the race. Between the challenges, the competition, and being frozen for more than an hour combined, there were plenty of moments that could have knocked them out of contention. But they kept pushing, kept racing, and fought their way right back toward the front of the pack.

For Keith, the Race for Hunger has become a bit of a tradition. This was his fourth year racing, previously competing alongside his wife Stephanie as part of Team Home Grown. This year he teamed up with Chan, and these two proved they were absolutely in it to win it.

Keith and Chan, congratulations on an incredible race and your third place finish. You earned your spot in the Winners’ Circle, and we loved watching you fight for it every step of the way.

Congratulations, Ying Yang Twinz!

Thank you to all of the photographers that donated their time on Saturday to capture these incredible memories
