☕ Coffee, Community & Gazebo Weather! ☀️

Our gazebo has been a busy place this week! The beautiful weather brought out the Hospital Alumni Coffee Group for morning coffee — along with plenty of visiting and laughter.

And judging by the pictures, it may have turned into Day 2 of the 80th birthday celebrations too! 🎂😄

That’s life at Cumberland Villas 55+ Retirement Community — good friends, good weather and always a reason to gather. 💙

Life at Cumberland Villas, our 55+ retirement community, is about more than where you live — it’s about friendship, laughter and doing life together. 💙

And sometimes… you move supper to the gazebo because somebody turned 80! 🥳

🧳 Museum in a Suitcase! 🏛️

We enjoyed having the Melville Heritage Museum here for the Strawberry Tea that we invited them back just a few days later for Museum in a Suitcase!

And wow — were there stories to tell! Our residents had a wonderful time examining the different artifacts and trying to guess what they were and how they would have been used. We saw everything from old kitchen tools and dolls to a fur hat, vintage catalogues featuring women’s fashions, and so much more. We even got to see demonstrations of a few of the artifacts!

The team from the Melville Heritage Museum brought each piece to life with stories, explanations, and such a warm and welcoming attitude. It made everyone want to learn more — and sparked plenty of memories and conversations along the way.

A huge thank you to the Melville Heritage Museum for taking the time to bring Museum in a Suitcase to Cumberland Villas. We loved having you, and we are so grateful for the stories, laughter, memories, and history you shared with us! ❤️🏛️

🍓 What a sweet afternoon of heritage, hospitality and community connection!

We were delighted to form another wonderful community partnership by hosting the Melville Heritage Museum for their annual Strawberry Tea.

Guests enjoyed beautiful heritage clothing, a mini fashion show, a fascinating spinning demonstration—and, of course, delicious angel food cake topped with strawberries! 🍰🍓 Add in door prizes, cups of tea and plenty of laughter and conversation, and it was an afternoon to remember.

We are so grateful for opportunities like this that bring people together, celebrate our local history and strengthen community connections.
