Looking for a warm, comfortable place to stay active as the weather cools down? At the CN Community Centre the Prairie Co-op Walking Track is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM throughout the fall and winter season.

❤️ And the best part — it’s FREE to use!

A big thank you to Prairie Co-op for their generous sponsorship, which allows us to offer free access to the walking track for everyone in our community.

Whether you're getting in your daily steps, meeting a friend for a walk, or looking for a way to stay active this winter, come on down!

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month💜

Psychological safety isn’t only about feeling comfortable speaking up at work. It’s about creating environments — at work, at home, and in our communities — where people feel safe enough to say, “I’m not okay.”

We often talk about workplace safety in terms of preventing physical injuries. But mental health deserves the same attention.

A psychologically safe workplace is one where people can ask for help without fear of judgment. Where checking in on a coworker is just as normal as checking that a piece of equipment is safe. Where compassion matters, difficult conversations are welcomed, and no one feels they have to struggle silently to remain “professional.”

And that responsibility doesn’t end when we clock out.

At home, in our friendships, and throughout our community, we can help create spaces where people know they matter — even when they’re struggling.

This September, take the time to:
• Check in on someone — and really listen to the answer.
• Make it safe for people to talk about mental health.
• Learn the signs that someone may be struggling.
• Lead with compassion instead of assumptions.
• Remind people that asking for help is a sign of strength.
• Keep the conversation going beyond September.

Psychological safety can save lives.

Create the kind of workplace, home and community where someone feels safe enough to speak before their struggle becomes a crisis.

Start the conversation. Listen without judgment. Be the safe person someone can turn to.

🎒🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL — SAFETY FIRST! 🚌🎒

The backpacks are packed, and students are heading back to the classroom! 📚✏️

As another school year begins, the City of Melville is reminding everyone to take a little extra care on our streets. With more children walking, biking, crossing streets and getting on and off school buses, we all have a role to play in keeping them safe.

🚸 Slow down and watch for children in school zones.
🚌 Stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing.
👀 Stay alert — kids can be unpredictable.
📵 Put the phone away and keep your attention on the road.
❤️ Be patient and give yourself a few extra minutes.

For students heading back to school: have fun, work hard, be kind, look out for one another, and make it a great year!

Safe kids. Strong community. Bright futures.
