We’re heading into our final week of summer programs — but there’s still plenty of fun to enjoy!

Tues, Aug 25 (3–5 pm)
Drop in for our last Tech Tuesday with BGC Leeds & Grenville (rescheduled from last week). Coding, robotics, and hands‑on STEM for school‑aged kids.

Wed, Aug 26
10:30–12:00 — Dive‑In Craft Space: practice your map‑reading skills while hunting for underwater creatures (for school-aged kids).
2:00–4:00 — Teen Chill & Chat: create an undersea origami mural (for Gr. 7+).

Thurs, Aug 27 (9 am–3 pm)
Rideau Eco‑Literacy’s Canoe Adventure Day at Rideau River Park wraps up the summer series. For ages 6 -12. Registration required.

This is a drop-in program led by staff from the Merrickville Community Health Centre (PS we sit on chairs, not yoga mats😄)

Exciting News!
Diana Beresford-Kroeger will be the special guest speaker on the Eco‑Literacy Panel at the Smiths Falls Literary Festival on Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 pm at the Smiths Falls Legion (Branch 95).

This is a wonderful chance to hear Diana speak and ask questions — her presentation will be followed by an interview and open Q&A.

All proceeds support the Rideau Eco‑Literacy Center, which has been bringing a fantastic series of hands‑on science workshops about the Rideau waterway to local libraries — including ours — throughout the summer and fall.

Congratulations to Cheryl and family!
They won the second family 4-pack of tickets to the Outerbridge Magic Show "Mysteries of the Keyhole House".

This show runs every Saturday at 2:00 pm until Labour Day at The Pews in Merrickville. This haunting show is sure to amaze and astound you! Don't miss it!

Our Summer Programs are winding down -- but there's still some great activities and workshops for school-aged kids to enjoy before we're done!

This week:
Tues, Aug 18 (3 - 5 pm) - Tech Tuesday (last one!) - Join our friends from BGC Leeds & Grenville to experiment and create with a variety of tech toys (drop-in)

Wed, Aug 19 (10:30 am - noon) - TD Summer Reading Club - join us for more ocean-themed crafts and activities

Thurs, Aug 20 (2:00 - 3:30 pm) - Rideau Eco-Literacy Workshop - this science workshop will explore underwater invertebrates, For ages 6- 12. Registration required.
