The MNBC Ministry of Skills Training, Employment & Post Secondary (STEPS) is now accepting funding applications for training scheduled on or after April 1, 2026.

With newly updated Standards of Practice, STEPS has expanded information on available programs, services, and supports that are available to Métis trainees, jobseekers, and students.

Great opportunity for our families!

Spring break is almost here, and support is available from MNBC!

The Métis Spring Break Supplement is a benefit to help Métis families with children ages 5 to 12 with the costs of their child care needs during the spring break.

Approved programs must be over 3 hours per day and can be recreational programs with social opportunities for children to enjoy interactions and activities in fun, supervised, learning environments.

✅ Maximum of $500.00 per child per winter and spring break combined.

🌱 MNBC’s Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Food Security is excited to announce that the popular Home Garden Program is returning for its sixth consecutive year!

🌿 We’re thrilled to support up to 500 households with access to nutritious food and the opportunity to connect (or reconnect) with nature.

🧤🪴 MNBC Citizens can apply to receive a $75 gift card to BC Eco Seeds and/or a $200 grant to purchase gardening material!

📅 The application window runs from November 3 to November 17, 2025. Keep an eye on our social media for the official launch.

A recap from Day 2 of the MNBC Annual General Meeting.

🎉 During CEO Colette Trudeau's update, she announced that there are now 30,000 registered MNBC Citizens across the province!

This year's AGM attendance is also at a record high, at 319.

The MNBC Board of Directors Q&A was moved from Sunday to today and Resolutions 1 through 4 were discussed.

Resolutions 5 and 6 have been moved to Sunday, September 21. The meeting start time has been changed to 8:30 AM PST.

The following motions passed:

✅ The date for the next Annual General Meeting was set for September 18-20, 2026.
✅ Motion to accept the audited financial statements passed.
✅ Motion to appoint a financial auditor for next fiscal year passed.

🌿🐝 Join us for the Plant and Species Identification Trip, taking place September 22 - 24, 2025 at Manning Park Resort.

Led by MNBC's Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Food Security, this in-person gathering invites Métis Citizens and self-identifying folks from across the province to explore pollinator habitats and species at risk.

Through land-based learning and cultural connection, participants will engage in meaningful stewardship that supports community well-being and conservation.

🌱 Discover pollinator ecosystems and recovery efforts
🌱 Strengthen Métis cultural revitalization and community ties
🌱 Support holistic health and climate resilience for Métis communities

This is more than a trip, it’s a chance to walk the land together, share knowledge, and grow a future rooted in care and connection!

All expenses (travel, meal per diem, accommodation) will be covered by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Food Security.

🌾 The Harvester Support Fund is now live and taking applications!

MNBC’s Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Food Security is excited to launch the Harvester Support Fund for the 2025 fall season. Starting today, applications are open for Métis harvesters to receive a $200 microgrant to help cover the cost of harvesting supplies including hunting and fishing gear, preservation tools, transportation, and more.

Only 100 microgrants are available, so we encourage eligible harvesters to apply as soon as possible.

🛑 Deadline to apply: Monday, September 4, 2025
✅ Eligibility: MNBC citizens, those with a valid Harvester Card will be prioritized

Register now for Timber and Tide at Camp Latona!

Métis youth are invited to Gambier Island to connect with their heritage and culture over a weekend long stay filled with relationship building, classic camping activities such as high ropes, water sports, and hiking, and a paddling journey through the Howe Sound.

Funded by the Reconciliation Action Fund, this is a fully funded camp weekend with all meals provided. All you need is a sense of adventure!
