Township of Tiny Permit Parking Update đźš—

The parking by-law has been amended to shorten the time required for permit parking in Tiny from the previous schedule of April 15th to October 15th to the new dates of May 14th to September 15th, annually.

These changes are intended to help drive economic development for local businesses through increased neighbour and tourist usage in the shoulder seasons.

Parking permits are still valid until September 15th. If you have not obtained one for 2026, residents can get up to two parking permits per address, with the first permit being free of charge, and the second offered at a nominal fee.

Staff are working to update signage throughout the township to reflect the new dates.

Tiny Fire Tips 🔥

If you need a replacement battery or charger for your lithium-ion device, always purchase from the manufacturer.

Lithium-ion batteries from third-parties such as unrecognized brands may be substandard, counterfeit or poorly manufactured, and can present an increased risk of fire. 🔋

Transport Canada performed extensive lab tests on lower cost third-party lithium-ion batteries to see if they were more likely to fail safety tests than the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) batteries.

What Transport Canada found, was that HALF of all third-party batteries failed required safety tests.

For more information about lithium-ion battery safety, visit tiny.ca/ChargedForLife.

Swim Advisory in Effect - Balm Beach and Jackson Beach

Swimming advisories are in effect for Balm Beach and Jackson Beach as recommended by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).

During a swimming advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs that the most recent water samples showed bacteria in numbers that may increase your risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness. If you choose to swim during a swimming advisory, avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.

For more information, please contact the SMDHU at www.simcoemuskokahealth.org or 705-526-9324.
