https://www.millet.ca/news/post/congratulations-to-our-subdivision-name-contest-winner - The Town of Millet would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who submitted name suggestions for the new subdivision. We were thrilled to receive 111 thoughtful and creative submissions from our community.
At the March 11th Council Meeting, Council carefully reviewed the submissions and officially selected a name.
We are pleased to announce that the new subdivision will be called AUGUST GROVE.
August Millet was a significant figure in the early development of Millet. He was a canoe man for Father Lacombe and a fur buyer who sold furs to Ben Slaughter. Millet’s name was chosen for the Village in honor of his contributions to the fur trade and his role as a canoe man. His legacy continues to be celebrated in the community, and his name is part of the Town’s history.
🎉 Congratulations to Wanda Gulliford, whose submission was chosen!
Thank you again to everyone who participated and helped shape this exciting new addition to our community.
