We hope everyone is staying cool in this hot weather. Some helpful tips below from the Alberta Government:

-Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay informed. Helpful information and resources are available at Extreme Heat Alberta.

-Monitor for symptoms of heat exhaustion or more serious heat stroke, such as high body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting and unconsciousness. When in doubt, call 9-1-1.

-Consider taking extra precautions to reduce your exposure, such as:
Rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day.
Taking frequent breaks from the heat, spending time in cooler indoor spaces where possible.

-Drinking plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.

-Check for children or pets before you exit your vehicle. Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.

-Pay particular attention to infants, children, seniors, outdoor workers, or those with pre-existing health conditions. These individuals can experience earlier or more severe effects from poor air quality and heat.

-Check in on friends or family who live alone or are socially isolated. These individuals may not be aware of the impact on heat.

Stay safe and cool!
