Emotional regulation isn't something children are born knowing. It's a skill that develops over time through connection, support, and practice.
When children are struggling with big emotions, they need guidance, not just reminders to "calm down." By staying present, modelling regulation, and teaching coping strategies, we help build the skills they need to manage challenges with confidence.

If you and your child are struggling with emotional regulation, SNAP might be right for you. Visit mcrc.on.ca/snap for more details.
