We’re excited to share that has received a $10,000 donation from Pallet Management to support our smoke alarm program!

This funding will allow us to provide temporary smoke alarms to residents, helping keep them safe until permanent repairs are made by the property owner.

Meet part-time firefighter Alicia Giedronowicz, one of the newest members of the team. Alicia brings hands-on trade experience and a strong commitment to community service.

FF Giedronowicz began her fire service journey with in 2025 as a recruit. After graduating in November, she transitioned into her role as a firefighter and has now been serving for several months.

Outside of , she works full time as an electrician. With over three years in the trade, she is currently working toward her licence. The skills she uses every day — including problem-solving, using a variety of tools, and critical thinking — transfer directly to her work as a firefighter.

Being part of holds special meaning for her. Having spent her entire life in Milton, she takes great pride in serving the community.

Her favourite part of the job is the unpredictability of being on call. Whether it is during the day, at dinner, or in the middle of the night, every call is different. Being ready to respond at any moment keeps the role both challenging and rewarding.

We’re proud to have dedicated firefighters like FF Giedronowicz working to keep our community safe.
