2990 Lorne Scots Army Cadets

On the weekend of October 2nd to the 4th, 2990 held it fall FTX at Camp Manitou. This activity is a great start to the cadet training year allowing Cadets to get a feel for the program and learn some hands-on skills offered through the cadet program. The weather was great, lessons were learned, friendships were formed, and fun was had by all. there was even an opportunity for parents to come out and get a glimpse at some of the activities that their Cadets were participating in, which is something new that has been offered at 2990. Stay tuned for more opportunities for some great activities in the coming months

On Tuesday, September 29 2990 RCACC held their first CO’s parade of the training year. CO‘s parades are a part of the cadet program that allow the commanding officer of a cadet corps to inspect the Cadets as well as announcing promotions and appointments within the corps ranks. On this night there were many promotions which included the promotions of our new MWO’s and CWO. The role of these Sr cadets are the backbone of the cadet program with a focus on youth leading youth. It is important to recognize these achievements.

Senior Cadet Appointments for the 2026/27 Training Year are as follows

RSM - CWO B. Elwi

Adventures from Blackdown. RSM Smintich had the opportunity to meet the new CJCR Commander and showcase Canada’s largest CTC. What are you doing this summer?

Exciting news from Blackdown CTC. Our very own RSM Smintich was appointed the cadet RSM for Blackdown Cadet Training Centre for this summer. This is quite the achievement as Blackdown is the largest Cadet Training Centre in Canada. He was one of only a select few staff cadets chosen to complete Board interviews for Senior Leadership positions and his leadership, training and experience shone through. Bravo Zulu RSM!!

🌺LEST WE FORGET 🌺…Today is the 82nd Anniversary of D Day…On June 6, 1944, approximately 14,000 Canadian soldiers spearheaded the Allied assault on the 8-kilometer stretch of the Normandy coast codenamed "Juno Beach"…Supported by 110 Royal Canadian Navy ships and 15 Royal Canadian Air Force squadrons, Canadian troops successfully penetrated heavily defended enemy lines and pushed further inland than any other Allied force that day…🌺LEST WE FORGET 🌺
