Re: Structure Fire – 14 Howard Street

At approximately 1:30pm Miramichi Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 14 Howard St in Miramichi.

Crews remain on scene of a large fire involving an abandoned building, which had been slated for demolition in the coming weeks.

Due to safety concerns, interior operations had transitioned to defensive tactics early into the incident. After several hours of high-volume water use of approximately 3,000 gallons per minute, efforts have been reduced to limit strain on the municipal water system. Crews continue to monitor the fire and have aerial master streams standing by for ongoing fire suppression as needed.

Miramichi Police Force also remain on scene to assist Miramichi Fire Department with traffic control and public safety.

Residents are asked to avoid the area as crews continue operations.

The entire Miramichi Fire Department congratulates Julie on a well-earned and truly deserved retirement! 🎉

Thank you for being such a vital link to our firefighters since 1997. As a 911 dispatcher, your calm voice, quick thinking, and dedication helped guide and support our crews through countless calls. Your commitment over the years has made a lasting impact on our department and the community we serve.

Wishing you all the best in this exciting new chapter. Enjoy every moment of your retirement, Julie! 👏

Today we recognize and congratulate Julie Campbell on her well-deserved retirement after many years of dedicated service with the Miramichi Police Force.

Julie began her career with the Miramichi Police on February 17, 1997, serving as a valued member of our Telecommunications Operators (PSAP) team. Throughout her career, Julie was often the calm and reassuring voice on the other end of the phone. In moments when people needed assistance the most, she was there—professional, compassionate, and steady under pressure.

Our telecommunications operators play a critical role in public safety, and Julie exemplified the very best of the profession. Her commitment, reliability, and care for the community have made a lasting impact on both the Miramichi Police Force and the citizens we serve.

Julie, thank you for your years of dedication, service, and support to our officers and to the community. You have truly made a difference.

On behalf of the Miramichi Police Force, we wish you all the best in your retirement and in the exciting new chapter ahead. Congratulations!
