Hope Central in Mission is a not-for-profit, multi-denominational Christian society operating in Mission.

Hope Central provides meals, and relief services and engages those experiencing destitution and poverty to utilize all available community resources to work towards stability. We are a Christian ministry whose aim is to love unconditionally and gain credibility with one another through service.

We are recruiting! Two positions available.

Hope Central is Seeking Drivers for the Meal Transport Team

Pickup Details
Locations: Drivers are needed to pick up prepared meals from the Salvation Army (Gladys Road, Abbotsford) and Northview Community Church (Dewdney Trunk Rd, Mission).
Destination: All meals are brought back to Copper Hall, located at 33129 N Railway Ave, Mission.
Shifts Needed:
Friday afternoon between 3-4 pm - Dinner meal pick up at Salvation Army, Abbotsford; Return before Sunday.
Sunday afternoon between 3-4 pm – Dinner meal pick up at Salvation Army, Abbotsford; Return before Tuesday

Hope Central is Urgently Seeking Volunteers for Serving Meals at Copper Hall

If you love making a difference in our community, Hope Central is urgently seeking volunteers to fill the gaps in our Serving Teams for the following dinner shifts of each month:

First Sunday; First Tuesday; Second Thursday

There are also additional shift times available that might fit your schedule, along with opportunities to be an On Call volunteer during times needing extra support.

If interested, please email [email protected] with your availability! You can apply to volunteer on your own or if you have friends/family/colleagues that you’d like to volunteer with on the same shift (up to 5 volunteers), include the information in your email.

Hope Central is very grateful to the Mission Community Foundation for their support towards our meal program. We serve up to 75 meals, 6 days a week and their generous contribution towards our food purchases has made a big difference!

Their funding allows us to make extremely discounted food purchases and to receive donated food. Our food partners include Salvation Army, Northview Community Church and St. Joseph's Food Bank.

Hope Central is grateful for the generous support of our donors. Gwen Schmidt is a volunteer with our dinner meal service who is exceptionally passionate about serving others. She plans the Hope Central Christmas Program with our staff throughout the year! She's been collecting supplies and donations for another special Christmas brunch, coordinates volunteers, and sets the tone for exceptional generosity and service.
Gwen also serves as a member of Midday Rotary and is the Executive Director of Community Futures North Fraser.

Year after year, the Mission Community Foundation continues to support Hope Central and many other worthy initiatives in Mission. Earlier this year, they contributed $100,000 throughout Mission! Please consider them when you are managing your own giving.

During the Months of July and August. Hope Centrals space will be operating as a cooling Center on Wednesdays. This will start after breakfast ends at 10:00am and continue until the day cools down. Please don't hesitate to come down and hang out and stay cool with us.

Be sure to stop in at the Deroche General Store for your food, beef jerky, drinks and more as you travel :)

Hope Central in collaboration with multiple local outreach/peer programs is working on setting up a weekly cooling center at Copper Hall. More details will be available soon.

We are looking for donations of activities that can be done during the day during these Cooling Center days.
If anyone has any Board games, Puzzles or crafty activities they would be willing to donate please reach out! We would be very grateful!
