Recovery is about more than what someone leaves behind. It’s also about what they’re working toward.

A life that feels safe.
A life with connection and hope.
A life that feels worth being present for.

Recovery looks different for everyone, and it doesn’t always follow a straight path. Wherever someone is in their journey, they deserve compassion, dignity, and support.

At Fraser House, we believe recovery is possible. 💜

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers of Purple for Parm and the Sanghera family for their generous donation to Fraser House Society.

Purple for Parm is a meaningful event that brings our community together to remember those lost to the toxic drug crisis, support the people who carry their loss, and continue important conversations about substance use, stigma, and compassion.

We are truly grateful to have been included and for your continued support of Fraser House and the services we provide in our community. Your generosity will help us continue supporting individuals, youth, and families in Mission.

Thank you for honouring Parm’s memory in such a powerful and caring way. 💜

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember that small actions can make a big difference.

Starting a conversation, checking in on someone, knowing the signs of overdose, carrying naloxone, and responding without judgment can all help save lives.

Support does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with listening, learning, and treating every person with dignity and compassion.

Together, we can help create a community where people feel seen, supported, and safe.

Alcohol poisoning can be difficult to recognize, especially when the signs may look like someone is simply very intoxicated.

Knowing what to watch for and how to respond can save a life.

Remember C.U.P.S.:
Cold and sweaty skin
Unconscious
Puking
Slow or irregular breathing or heart rate

If someone is unresponsive or you are worried about their safety, call 911, place them on their side if needed, and do not leave them alone.

Knowing the signs matters. Checking in matters. Acting quickly matters.

Friday Feels

This week may have felt heavy.

Conversations about overdose, loss, grief, and substance use can bring up a lot of feelings.

As we head into the weekend, remember that it’s okay to take care of yourself too.

Check in with someone.
Take a break when you need one.
Be gentle with yourself.
And if someone is struggling, remind them they don’t have to face it alone.

Compassion matters. Connection matters. People matter.

Stigma can make it harder for people to reach out, ask for help, or talk openly about substance use.

As we approach International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, we’re reminded that people who use substances deserve dignity, compassion, and support; not judgment.

Changing the way we talk about substance use can help create safer, more supportive communities.

💜 Reduce stigma. Choose compassion.

As we approach International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, we take time to remember the lives lost to overdose and drug poisoning, and the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry that loss.

Every person lost was more than a number. They were someone’s child, parent, sibling, partner, friend, or loved one.

This week is an opportunity to remember without stigma, start conversations, and continue working toward a community where people feel safe asking for help.

Struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing. 🤍

You can be having a hard time AND still deserve compassion, connection, and support.

Substance use can feel isolating, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Support is there for you, wherever you are in your journey.

One step, one conversation, one day at a time. 🌿
