Did you know Mississauga's School Streets program creates temporary car-free spaces in front of schools during drop-off and pickup times?

By temporarily closing streets to vehicle traffic, the program creates safer spaces for students and families to walk, bike and roll to school.

School Streets help:
• Improve road safety
• Reduce traffic congestion around schools
• Encourage active travel and healthy habits
• Build a stronger sense of community

Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 School Streets pilot project!

Eligible elementary and middle schools can apply until October 31.

More than 44,000 eligible voters cast their ballots during the 2026 municipal election advance polls. A 57% increase compared to 2022!
