Happy Thanksgiving Mississauga-Lakeshore!

As we head into the Thanksgiving long weekend, the Mississauga-Lakeshore NDP wishes everyone across our community a happy, safe and restful holiday!
Thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones, share good food, reflect on what we’re grateful for, and appreciate the people who make our community feel like home.
It’s also an opportunity to remember that gratitude is about more than what we have- it’s about how we show up for one another. Whether it’s checking in on a neighbour, supporting a local food bank, donating to a community organization, or simple lending a helping hand, small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

From Lakeview to Port Credit to Clarkson, we’re grateful to be part of a community made stronger by the people who care for it. Let’s spread a little gratitude, kindness and community spirit here in Mississauga-Lakeshore.

Wishing you and your loved ones, a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

What are your Thanksgiving plans this year?
How are you giving back to your community this long weekend?

Happy World Teachers Day!

Today, the Mississauga–Lakeshore NDP proudly celebrates and thanks the incredible teachers, educational workers, and school staff who help shape the next generation every single day.

From Lakeview in the east, through Port Credit in the heart of our community, to Clarkson in the west, teachers play a vital role in our classrooms and communities. Their dedication, compassion, patience, and commitment inspire young people to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Education is one of the strongest investments we can make in our future, and that future is built every day by the educators who show up for their students with care, creativity, and determination.

Today, we encourage everyone in Mississauga–Lakeshore to take a moment to thank a teacher who made a difference in your life—or who continues to make a difference in the lives of our children and youth.

To all of our teachers: thank you for the lessons you teach, the confidence you build, and the futures you help create.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

2026 President’s Annual Report Now Available

The Mississauga–Lakeshore NDP is proud to release our 2026 President’s Annual Report, highlighting a year of growth, renewal, and grassroots organizing in our riding.

Inside this report, you’ll find updates on our mission and vision, party developments at both the federal and provincial levels, volunteer opportunities, communications initiatives, membership growth, organizational priorities, financial information, and our plans for building a stronger New Democratic presence in Mississauga–Lakeshore.

Over the past year, we have worked to rebuild our riding association from the ground up—strengthening our local organization, reconnecting with our community, and laying the foundation for future success. This report reflects not only what we have accomplished together, but also where we hope to go next.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you.

As we begin planning for next year’s report and our priorities for 2027, we invite members and supporters to share their feedback:

-What sections did you find most useful?

-What information would you like to see included in future reports?

-What activities, events, initiatives, or updates would you like the riding association to focus on in the coming year?

Your ideas and feedback help shape the future of our local movement and ensure that our riding association remains responsive, transparent, and member-driven.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more active, and more connected Mississauga–Lakeshore NDP.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions for the 2027 President’s Annual Report.

Women's History Month in Canada Is Upon Us!

This October, we celebrate the women who have helped shape Canada's history—and the women who continue to shape its future.

From the suffragists who fought for the right to vote, to trailblazers like Agnes Macphail, the first woman elected to Canada's House of Commons, and generations of women who have broken barriers in politics, education, science, business, labour, sports, and community leadership, Canadian women have helped build a stronger and more inclusive country. Their courage and determination paved the way for progress that many of us benefit from today.

But Women's History Month is not only about looking back. It is also about recognizing that the work toward gender equality continues. Across Canada, women are still leading change, advocating for their communities, supporting families, and inspiring future generations.

This month, we encourage everyone in Mississauga–Lakeshore to take time to learn about the women who helped shape our country, support women-owned businesses and organizations, attend local community events, and share the stories of the women who have made a difference in your life.

Because when women succeed, communities succeed.

💜 Happy Women's History Month from your friendly neighbourhood Mississauga–Lakeshore NDP team!

October marks Islamic History Month in Canada
This month is an opportunity to learn about the rich history, diverse cultures, and lasting contributions of Muslim communities throughout Canada and around the world.
For centuries, Muslim scholars, scientists, artists, educators, physicians, mathematicians and innovators have helped advance knowledge and shape human progress. Their contributions continue to influence many aspects of our daily lives, from medicine and astronomy to architecture, literature and technology.
Islamic History Month also provides an opportunity to recognize the important role that Muslim Canadians play in strengthening our communities through leadership, entrepreneurship, public service, volunteerism and community-building.
Here In Mississauga-Lakeshore and across Peel Region, we are fortunate to live in a diverse community where people of many faiths and backgrounds come together to enrich our shared social, cultural, and civic life.
Throughout October, we encourage everyone to take time to learn about the history, experiences, and contributions of Muslim communities, and to reflect on the importance of understanding, inclusion, mutual respect.
Happy Islamic History Month.

The Mississauga–Lakeshore NDP stands in solidarity with airport workers across Ontario and Canada.

Our airports are essential public infrastructure—not assets to be sold off to private or foreign investors. Privatization puts profits ahead of workers, passengers, safety, and accountability.

We support keeping Canada’s airports in Canadian hands, protecting good union jobs, and ensuring affordable, reliable service for everyone who depends on them.

Enough is enough. Canada’s infrastructure should serve Canadians—not corporate interests.

Hands off our airports.
Solidarity with airport workers.
Let’s protect Canada’s infrastructure future.
